This module focuses on nursing and nurses, which is one of the ‘free flow of careers’ among the ASEAN countries.

 

Nurses wishing to work in some countries must first take an English test.
Australia needs an IELTS score of 7 in each of the domains of reading, writing and speaking and an overall score of 7 and Occupational Test a B pass in each of the domains of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

 

This means your general English must be at a qualified level and also your content knowledge about the occupation.

 

To apply for a job in ASEAN Countries, you need to be able to understand the advertisement, decide if you meet the qualifications, fill in the forms, and provide appropriate documents.

 

The English skill needed is reading for detail, in which you must read the requirements carefully.  Again, wh-questions can help you focus on what the organization needs.
