Concepts

  1. The definition of SMEs determines the business environment. Understanding crucial elements in the nature of business within the ASEAN community is essential.
  2. There is documentation commonly used in exporting, but specific requirements vary by destination and product. The documentation can be divided into the following categories: common export documents, transportation documents, export compliance documents, other export-related documents.
  3. International trade presents a spectrum of risk, causing uncertainty over the timing of payments between the exporter (seller) and the importer (foreign buyer). It is advisable to consider the methods of payment: cash in advance, open account, draft, and commercial letter of credit.
  4. Every area of work in ASEAN will need personnel with fluent English. Workplace communication depends on the situation, for example corresponding with your colleges, dealing with clients, and using technical terms in business. It is important to master the basics of English for workplace communication.
