  • Are you importing any fruit or vegetables?

Hotel:  The following are questions tourists may need to use at hotel counters.

  • Do I have to pay for the room when checking in?
  • Where is breakfast served?
  • What time (or where) is breakfast served?
  • Do you have any free rooms?
  • Does the room have air conditioning?
  • Where can I exchange money?
  • How do I check my messages?
  • Can I leave my bags here?
  • Did you give me back my passport?

In some difficult situations: 
The following are some necessary sentences for using in difficult situations.

  • I was robbed.
  • Someone stole my passport.
  • That man hit me / swung at me.
  • We need an ambulance / stretcher.
  • It’s an emergency. / It’s urgent.
  • I’m going to call the police.
  • Leave me alone!
  • Help! / Assistance!
  • Officer, could you help me please?
  • Is it safe / secure to walk at night in the neighborhood?

English expressions about the weather in Asia:

  • Mostly dry or warm and dry
  • Hot and humid
  • The weather stays constant throughout the year.
  • It is too warm and there’s too much rain. / It’s too hot and very rainy.
  • Some months have low average rainfall.
  • Some Asian countries have a variety of different weather patterns throughout the year.
  • In the cool season, the average temperatures drop into the mid-70s.
  • The weather is relatively dry, but humidity is on the rise.
  • Temperatures rise to between 25 to 40 Celsius in March and April.
  • Monsoon season is May to October.
  • Temperatures remain fairly pleasant.
  • The weather is fairly dry, but it gets increasingly hot and humid.
  • The mildest temperatures range from 17.7 to 25 Celsius.
  • In winter, daytime temperatures can go down to 54 Fahrenheit, although the season is also fairly dry.
  • In the rainy season, temperatures also climb up to 40 Celsius during the summer months.
  • In the hot and dry season, a daily average temperature is 32.2 C.
